Peter Blades was born in 1978 in England. On completing his first design masters degree in Transport Design at Coventry University, Pete achieved a place at the Royal College of Art in London where he finalized his studies with a Master of Arts in Vehicle Design.
With experience gained from Jaguar Cars Ltd, Land Rover and Ford Motor company, Peter emigrating to the USA and started his career at GM Design in Detroit. Peter worked within the design teams responsible for cars such as the 2005 Camaro, the C7 Corvette, and the award winning GMC GRANITE which debuted in 2010 at the NAIAS.
Moving to California in 2010, Peter worked as a Senior Interior Designer at KIA Design America before joining Nissan & Infiniti Design America in San Diego as a Senior Exterior and Interior Designer.
Founding the Company: Clear Oxygen Design (COD) LLC in 2012 with Julien Montousse, Peter and Julien landed a tender in 2014 to propose a design for the cabin interior of the Dragon 2 Capsule to be launched on the SPACEX Rocket, the Falcon 9.
On successful completion Peter was sought after by TESLA Design to interview and join the design team.
The 1st Generation Model 3, Model Y, the Semi Truck in 2017, the Roadster 2.0, and the new Model 3 launched in 2023 code named Highland, and finally the MODEL Y 2nd Generation launched Spring 2024, are all designs which Peter penned and was behind the vision and the lead interior architect.
Peter currently holds the position of Head of Design & Experience at INTEGRAL8 Design Group. An Industrial Design studio in Los Angeles co-founded in 2025.
